I ended up having to share my house. Luckily I could rent out a 3 bedder with a huge downstairs out to my friends business. It's still my house, he comes round every now and again so I don't look like a target (unfortunately sometimes single mums do ).

The rent is the same for this as I paid for a one bedroom flat, and now I have space and even a backyard, and front yard (although that is SOOOOOOOOO over rated! Mowing and weeding with a toddler SUX)

If you do decide to go through a private rental I would try to get one ASAP. You have more chance of getting a rental as a single person than as a single mum.

Ah yes, this is a thread from last year, she's probably had her baby by now.

The thread was started in November last year- it's probably not a relevant issue to the OP any more.
