I started POAS at 12 days after EPU, it was so faint I didnt notice it. Each day it became a little clearer and more solid. By 16 days after EPU I had a distinct line - that was also the day I had BT

Default Re: January / February IVF cycle buddies: Lucky 2013!

    Hi all

Clucky and GStef- yey for you guys 7 and 5 eggs is great, I'm sure you'll both get a nice healthy little embryo or two out of those numbers. We got 8 eggs with my daughter and for us that was enough :-) In fact the last two cycles I've done I've had far more eggs but all BFNs, so more is not necessarily always better. Hope you both get some awesome news over the next day or two, will be watching to see how you both go :-)

To all those currently in their TWW, all my fingers and toes are crossed for lots of BFPs for you, looking forward to hearing the progress :-)

Richo - I think you'll find that any of us on here who have experienced fertility issues would understand just how generous your offer to be a surrogate is. I hope everything goes well for you and that you are able to bless some very lucky people with a beautiful little baby, I'm very interested to have you on board and hear your ivf story :-)

Finally, welcome to all the newbies, I wish you success on your journey to parenthood and hope it's a quick journey for you :-)

AFM - I had my first lot of bloods and ultrasound today (day 12) and am very excited that the clinic thinks I'll be doing my transfer (FET) next week :-) Was expecting a much longer wait, as usually I have a long cycle. Apparently the Progynova is helping to make my cycle shorter, yey :-) Bedlover, how are you going, I think I recall that we were on similar timeframes for our FET transfers??

Just wondering if anyone has tried acupuncture and if you would recommend it? I have heard that it helps and am willing to try anything, but would love to hear your thoughts? How many times, when and do you think it helps??

    Thanks :-)

Hi beanie, I think you'll find that all the drugs that you take during ivf do funny things to your body. I haven't experienced this after EPU, but I've always had a transfer after EPU. After my last BFN though I had something similar happen, heavy bleeding for about 3 days then light bleeding same as you for about a week, thought it was never going to end! Then got my af back two weeks later. My fs assures me that it's nothing to worry about, so hope she's right. Hope your body gets back to normal soon :-)

Hugs vetttc! It's not an easy journey. I know there is a lot to grieve and a lot to worry about, but I hope you and your DH can find a way to relax a bit before your next cycle.

Hi richo22! Lovely to hear from someone who is a surrogate - what a wonderful gift to give to your friend!

MGC Bertie, I do hope they are able to find sperm for you. When our cycle was cancelled prior to EPU we got the IVF cycle costs refunded and Medicare paid most of the admin charge; that financial part of it helped us choose to do our first cycle without donor backup. It feels better to be doing/have done something. Even if nothing is found, at least you will have that knowledge to go on with.

She said that's why it wasn't important to have your head tipped forwards or backwards like hayfever sprays and others recommend.

Strange how different clinics give you different advice, sometimes. I was initially told to definitely only take one spray - but I read on a BH forum about the sneezing, and specifically asked FN about that. Not that I do sneeze - I'm just paranoid. I still hardly ever feel like I am taking Synarel properly no matter where my head is!

AFM turns out I do have a sinus infection of some (non-sneezy) kind, so the IVF isn't completely to blame for me feeling bleh. Looks like I will be spending more time on the couch than expected; not a bad thing, as I definitely know today that I have ovaries! Does/did anyone else have noticeable ovary pain (i.e. uncomfortable to sit and stand) a week before EPU?

I have used acupuncture for our last 3 transfers and would definitely recommend it. I was skeptical, but there is a lot of research to support it.
It's recommended by a lot of fertility specialists here in S.A.
The first cycle we had using acupuncture was successful, and I also have a friend who was ttc naturally for about 6 months with no luck, but became pregnant within 2 months of starting acupuncture.
It's definitely not a miracle cure but it won't hurt and just might help. I feel it contributed to our twins being conceived!
