Ah I am so disappointed. No transfer for me until March.

They predict my estrogen to be over 10,000 and all my eggs went crazy. Not sure exactly how many there were, but looked to be at least 25ish and lots were really large.

I can't believe it. It is such a roller coaster of emotions and so much waiting. I was teary all morning at the clinic. The US was pretty painful and took 20 minutes again.

Egg pick up is on friday. Triggering with Lucrin tonight. I guess a positive is they told me that a FET is 60% pregnancy rate. Anyhow.. off to work I go. Must try not to cry at work

Oh I'm sorry Beanie That is very disappointing.

At least they are doing pick up and by the sounds of it you'll have a fair few eggs. Stats are pretty good with FET, just disappointing that you have to wait longer now.
Use the extra time to treat yourself, go to a spa, get a facial, eat great food! This time is about you, a time when you won't deal with nasty jabs or intrusive US.

Hi can I join too? I had my egg retrieval yesterday, 15th Jan and this is my 4th full cycle try and really hoping this is the one . Hubby had vasectomy many years ago so we are doing the ICIS cycle.
I have been looking at these threads for a long time and finally decided to join this morning. I love reading the success stories and these give me hope to keep on trying.
I am 40 and if successful will be a first time mum and have been told by FS don't have time to waste.

Default January / February IVF cycle buddies: Lucky 2013!

Oh Beanie, i was in your exact position last cycle, please please don't lose heart. My ovaries were such jerks! While I was ranting at the nurse, she told me "off the record" that most of the FS at my clinic prefer FET, because your body is not so traumatized by the drugs. They are also testing this hypothesis with a trial, so that made me feel less despondent about the fact that I'd handed over almost $9000 for half a cycle (pre rebate). I hope EPU goes well and you take a well deserved rest to recuperate.

beanie - I have also heard of some FS / clinics never doing stim cycle and transfer in the same month in order to get better results. When you have your baby in your arms that extra month won't seem so bad xx

I had mild OHSS and then the extra hormones from being pg made it 10 times worse - my belly was so swollen and I couldn't move my torso or put my arms above my head. I remember sitting in Brisbane airport on a work trip in so much pain that I didn't think I could get on my flight home - at my 7 week scan my ovaries were still the size of melons. You def don't want that.

AFM - DS has just been diagnosed with chicken pox, so waiting to hear from clinic to see if it means I am going to have to cancel my FET that should be around end Jan. Just such bad timing (

So sorry to hear your disappointing news beanie, all the waiting is such a testament for us ivfers :-( On a brighter note, hope you get lots of embies to freeze on Friday, which you surely will with all those eggs.

At the end of the day, as disappointing as the news is, you want to give this baby the best chance possible so if you're not in tip top shape then an extra month of waiting really is probably the best solution. I had mild OHSS with my first cycle and went ahead with the transfer anyway, on reflection, I should have waited as that embie didn't make it (didn't even put up a little fight)... maybe it would have turned our differently if I had waited till my body was ready instead of rushing??

Spoil yourself this next month to make the waiting go fast! Hugs to you :-)
