Tessagirl, my clinic told me to wait one full cycle between fresh and frozen. This seems reasonable to me. In my case there was no transfer, so maybe they had that in mind when telling me when to start next. It always takes my mind longer to recover than my body!

Katelyn, I would go to your doctor ASAP -- they may be able to put you on progesterone or Hcg support to help bub stay put.

Tessa, I have definitely found my body has been messed around and it makes sense that after pumping it with all kinds of drugs it may not kick back into gear and regulate its own cycles properly straight away. I certainly get what you mean about not wanting to wait -- I guess you need to evaluate whether the stress of waiting will outweigh the benefit of taking a breather.

    Sariele, welcome back!!

Leala, working can be a blessing and a curse -- something to distract you from the all-consuming crazy-making nature of IVF can be fantastic, but it can also get quite stressful. I know there are people who have stopped work in order to go through IVF and I have (hypothetically) considered this myself.

On this, my second cycle, I've been on holidays and it's been nice not to have to worry about work and being able to show up at the clinic at whatever time they first suggest rather than negotiating early morning or late afternoon! I also felt pretty rubbish after EPU this time and was able to lie on the couch moaning for a day without taking extra leave. But it also gives me much more time to obsess over every detail, and I have the 2ww coming up and I fear I may go a little crazy without work as a distraction!

Anyway, my FS said to me that most of his patients are professionals who just fit IVF in around what they are doing. Your clinic should offer early morning scans and blood tests.

    Hi ladies

I'm hoping I can join. I'm starting my first ivf round end of this month after a failed iui and a second cancelled one (too many follicles).
Bit scared of the whole process but glad to be going through it with all you ladies and going into it very positive.
    Good luck ladies!

Welcome Deb, you'll find lots if support here, and best of luck for your cycle😊

Question for you ladies, did you all give up coffee before cycling? I gave it up during my last cycle but am back on it now. I love my daily cup!!

Beatrix, I start every day with an espresso (I limit myself to one though, and I used to be on 3-4/ day) -- my FS said just last week that "One or two a day is fine".

I did give up coffee and changed to one weak hot chocolate (I hate chocolate!!!) per day. I am a coffee addict and work would have known something was up if I didn't walk around with a cup from the coffee shop in my hand!!

I also was under a fertility specialist in traditional Chinese medicine who told me to not drink anything cold and to have heaps of water so from first thing in the morning when hubby was jabbing me and throughout the day I would be sipping on a cup of hot water. I actually really enjoyed it. That was winter which helped!! I was also doing weekly Acupuncture and then lots around EPU and immediately pre and post transfer. I did a full stim cycle and got DS (and didn't touch coffee again until after he was born).

Now it is summer, I am doing a natural FET and haven't really done anything. I am just too busy!!!! I will stop coffee in the lead up to transfer and will have acupuncture pre and post transfer but other than that I am going to wait and see. If this FET doesn't work I will probably up the ante on the TCM stuff as it worked last time.
