My 8 yr old DS is very affectionate and tactile. loves cuddles, kisses, back tickles and scratches - very snuggly. Will cuddle/kiss in public - in front of friends/teachers.
My DD however - I've got to practically steal kisses from her!

Default Do you still get cuddles from your son?

My DS is 6 and very, very cuddly. He has no problem running up and cuddling me when I collect him from school. He's always been very affectionate so it will be interesting to see how he goes as he gets older.

I dont baby DS at all and have never been a clingy mum. DS is 8 and I still get cuddles and kisses...cheek only kisses in public though. He changed school this year and still likes me walking him to class most mornings.....even wanted to hold my hand for the fist half of the year! I work at his school so most kids know Im his mum and he always comes up to me for hugs
Meanwhile my best friends 8yr old wants his mum to stay as far out of sight as possible. So it obviously depends on the child.

Depends on the child. My 9yo does not cuddle ever but he never has, whereas my 5yo is super affectionate, hasn't started school yet but has no problems giving me kisses and cuddles at preschool and in the school playground waiting for his siblings.

My 7 year old still cuddles, and I even still get a hug and kiss when I drop him at school.

    depends on the kid.
my son is 10 and still cuddles me, private or public.

but then i'm the sort of mum who will probably embarass him anyway once he starts to say no!!

Ds is 7.5 and still kisses and hugs in public and private. I always get a kiss and cuddle in his classroom saying goodbye. Ds is 5.5 and does the same at kinder.
