Default Do you still get cuddles from your son?

2 year old DS and I were at my friends daughters 8 year old birthday party today and DS comes over to me every half hour or so in between playing with the big kids for a cuddle and this random mum says " lap it up,now cause as soon as they start school you won't get any more cuddles , boys are terrible at showing affection i should know i have 3"
I thought obviously any school aged child probably won't do many public displays of affection but surely not at home??

My eldest boy is about to turn 13 and he still hugs and kisses me in both private and public.

My almost 6yo ds starting saying a few months ago that he doesn't like kisses, only cuddles. And that's at home. Cuddles will follow I'm sure.

My 11 year old is still fine both publicly hugging goodbye and saying "love you mum" from a few metres away not caring who hears.

I think it depends on the child. My 8 year old has not ever been particularly affectionate so i don't really ever get cuddles from him.
DS2 on the other hand is 5 and would never leave my side if he didn't have too. I get plenty of hugs and kisses from him all the time. I can't see it stopping anytime soon either.
