    do u know how much around and how much you would get back? i guess iui has a good chance of working if they pinpoint ovulation.. its all so exciting but so nerve racking too!

    My friend paid about 10k and got back about 8000 back I think.

    If you can afford the outlay, it's a good option as if you get multiple embryos you can freeze and do a frozen cycle which is only like, $500 or something. Of course if you don't get spare embryos, you're back to square one...

    Yes, slightly better because the sperm and egg are put together in a dish.

    But it's more invasive, you have more meds and it requires more time off work etc if that's a consideration.

    We opted for IUI due to my age and health, the odds were in our favour and we wanted as non invasive as possible.

    I'll let you know on Tuesday if that was a good decision!!!

    my fingers are crossed for you.. please do let me know! how much time off work do you need for iui? when you have your first appointment can you ask all these questions? does the first appointment cost anything?

    YouTube iui. The first one should be called 3D animation of how iui works.

    I was told that rebates depend on if someone has fertility issues or not. If you have a medical issue rebates are much higher, same sex couples that have no issues are classed as 'social'. I don't know exactly but it might be something to make sure you check, I could have misunderstood however.

    Default iui questions?

    Zombies, you will often have a hcg trigger shot to help timing.

    Some people have meds to encourage follicle growth (I didn't) and some have progesterone support for LP (I did).

    Re medicare, I think if you have a referral from your GP you should be okay.

    Because we tried once at home, we definitely qualified but not sure otherwise it's quite a grey area!
