Default Days between dtd and O

Hey ladies I hope you don't mind me coming in here. I'm just curious as to the # of days between dtd and O to get your bfp

We did it every day when I thought I was fertile, plus a few days after just in case. But, we did that every month for almost 12 months before we got the bfp.

We DTD two days before and the day before O when I got my BFP in Sep, and not day of O. I think they can live an average of 2-3 days in there, some say 5 days but I reckon that might be on the rare occasion

Plan2beamummy are you charting your cycles? I did and it really helped me. On the cycle that we got pregnant (second cycle that I charted), I also used an ovulation predictor kit. I thought based on my temperatures that I was ovulating on day 14, however, on the morning of day 15, my temp rose (which means O has already occured) but I also got a positive result on the OPK on the morning of day 15 (which means O is about to occur - a bit confusing!) I probably Od overnight early in the hours of day 15.
We thought we would try the Shettles method, we don't mind what sex the baby is but both of us always wanted an older brother when we were kids so we thought we may as well try for a boy - I have no idea if this method works!
Because we did Shettles, we abstained for 6 days prior to ovulation. On day 15 when the OPK said I was ovulating, we had sex that night. Then we had sex most days for the rest of the cycle because we went on holiday!
So according to these calculations, sex on the night of ovulation worked for us.
PM me if you like, and best of luck!

Thanks ladies yes I'm charting, we are officially trying next month, however this month we were just seeing what happens. We dtd 5 days before I O ( ovulated early this month) . I've read that you become pregnant this far out however it was just "research" so I just wanted to see if anyone actually had
