need playdough recipe

My kids want to make playdough today & i've lost recipe. I had recipe for playdough and it was a non cooking version. I would like any version though. Thanks

Here is a recipe I received from a playgroup - there is another one in one of Robin Barker's books - if I can find it I will post that one too


4 cups plain flour
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons oil
3/4 cups boiling water
colouring (optional)

In a large bowl add all the dry ingredients. Mix and add oil. Than add boiling water slowly until a paste is formed. Add colour if using.

Just buy cream of tartar it's on the packet, microwave it for 2 min instead of heating on the stove!!!
