Default Please help me entertain DD!

DD is 9mo and has always been a clingy, demanding baby, which we have been working on with a little success... until this week! All of a sudden she won't let me be away from her for long enough to pee, and it doesn't matter where I sit I get climbed on and whinged at until I pick her up. I'm feeling very touched out as DH is working away and I have no relief through the day.
The only game she wants to play is knocking over blocks. None of her other toys are getting any attention at all. Taking her outside gives me a brief break but there are heaps of mozzies and flies here atm which she hates.
Any fail safe games that entertain you baby at this age are much appreciated!!!

A big box of tupperware kept my kids amused for ages at that age.

Banging on saucepans is also always a winner.

Otherwise, water play is also fascinating for babies. If you can't go outside because of the insects, put a big towel down, a bowl of water, some plastic cups and measuring spoons and let her go for it.

You could also put some music on and sing and dance which might help lift your mood as well as entertain bubs.

Good luck, I know how tiring it can be.

Fill clear plastic containers with dried pasta, beans etc and let her make music.

Agree with the indoor water play.

I used to put dd1 in the high chair and let her snack on veges as I cooked.

    Touch/feel books

Coke or water bottles with rice or pasta in them or a formula tin. They will make a great noise and can be rolled, shaken or stood up and then knocked down

I know my DS went through separation anxiety too at this age. It didn't last overly long but felt like forever while we were going through it!!

He loved those Fisher Price little people chunky animal toys. Would play with the farm set for hours. Touch and feel books. Ripping up newspapers or old magazines. If all else failed, I would just stick him in the sling and do what I needed to do.

It can be hard, especially how touched out you can get. It doesn't last forever. My DS is almost 2 and doesn't want me at all anymore. :-((. Good luck.

Thanks everyone! Lunchtime was a little better today, she sat happily chewing strawberries while I cooked which let me breathe a little lol! They're so funny with water at this age, DD would probably sleep in her blowup pool if I let her! I'll try the indoor water play this afternoon.
She already has all sorts of kitchen implements in her toy bags, amazing how the most mundane things can keep them entertained, but filling containers up and letting her loose I haven't tried yet, thanks. Will organise some for the morning when she goes to sleep.
