Default Week 3: Official Challenge Questions

    • Have any of your children, other family members and/or friends been joining in with you when you’re practicing the Zumba DVDs?
I have had four different friends and one sister join me so far and there are another three friends that have expressed their intention to join us. I have a group of 3 or 4 that come over on tuesday nights and another group of 3 or 4 that come over on Saturday mornings. I spread the word on my facebook page and via email, sms and in person. I have done up a little letter/calendar thingy detailing what i am doing and why and also listing the couple of dates that I already have a prior commitment booked in so wont be doing Zumba at the "scheduled time" that day.
Only two of them have previously done Zumba before but the unanimous vote is that they all have loved it!

We do the full Activate workout plus the cool down track from Exhilarate. Hopefully in a few weeks time one group (or both) might progress to doing the full Exhilarate or Mix workout instead of Activate, but for beginners Activate is a much more appealing option.

    • Do you feel like your establishing a routine with the Zumba DVDs?
      • How often a week do you use them?
      • Did you use the Weekly Workout Planner in the Programme Guide that came with the DVDs (Beginner’s Plan/Super-Sculpting Plan/Tight on Time Plan) – or are you establishing your own?
I definitely feel like i am in a routine. With my busy schedule i have to be in a routine or it wouldn't get done. I am aiming to do a workout every day but so far the last two Sundays have ended up being "rest" days by default as church commitments have run late, leaving not enough time before i have to leave for work. But i am hopeful that this Sunday i can at least do Rush, preferably Activate.

I read through the Programme Guide and applied the principles when forming my own plan. I make sure that there is at least 48 hours between "Ripped" sessions to give my muscles time to repair and by alternating Activate and Exhilarate i am ensuring that each of the slightly different muscle groups are being targeted each week. I use Rush as my emergency workout when time pressure is a problem and if Rush is replacing Ripped then i do it holding onto my Toning Sticks.
