This week has been really boring. We've done lots on critical thinking and planning, as well as lots of other boring stuff like; law and legislation, professional nursing practice, ethics, the australian health system, etc..
I think next week is where we start to get into it all. We have our first practical session on hand hygiene.. Yay!..lol.
We've got tutes available to us 2 mornings a week. I think i might go to them.. They showed us an assignment they had to do in the last group that went through and omg...sh!t is all i can say!.lol

Critical thinking..lol. Basically you have to pick a scenario (change over was one of the examples listed) and write a huge **** report about it, addressing a bunch of criteria.
I'm not sure if we have to do it though. We are the first class to go through a newly designed course so they still haven't even set our assessments.
I hope we don't have to do it as it's going to be rather difficult to address hospital and nursing issues when i've not ever worked in the industry.

They've done a good job of scaring the life out of a few of us, that's for sure.

I found the first six months of the course to be pretty boring....ohs, communication etc....a and p was interesting but seemed to go on forever cause its a big subject. We just stared wound management and its much more interesting...lots of time in the simulation lab doing more practical things. We have our first placement in Aged Care in March so looking forward to getting stuck into some care plans on placement.
