I love Christmas and the whole Santa idea!!my kids love writing Santa a letter and putting out drinks and food for him.its so exciting to see their little faces light up when they see their thankyou note from Santa and half drunk drink.
My eldest is 9 and I think she's caught on but the saying goes
"if you don't believe you don't receive"
So she is keen to believe for a little while longer:-)

    Default Does Santa exist???

    What?!! There is no Santa?????

    LOL...

Santa will be a part of our family Christmas for as long as we can keep the magic alive!

We will also be sharing the Christmas story with our children of Jesus' birth and this will be first and foremost. Bit Santa is second!

    This is hilarious, because...

I don't know how old I was but I remember one Easter I found out that mum and dad were the Easter bunny, but they never mentioned they were also Santa and I didn't think about so for another two years I totally still believed in Santa!!!

When I was 9 my parents really ruined it for me I was still pretending because it was so fun and exciting and my parents didnt care and never did it. Now my dad does it when we all come home to visit but he doesn't do it right! The presents go at the end of the bed not on the couch silly! >___< hahahaha

    Default Does Santa exist???

I think I got suspicious at about 9 and asked dad and he said he still believes and if you don't believe in Santa he won't come , we all ( including my 65 year old dad!) put our Xmas stockings out and guess what - he still comes!!!!

My only memory of figuring it out was thinking how awesome my parents were buying me all those toys!

    Default Does Santa exist???

I've been having a good lol at some of these

I understand those who don't participate but I'm the opposite I love the magic of Christmas, and tend to go OTT

I don't know when I stopped believing, but still asked Santa for presents regularly bc if you didn't believe you wouldn't get anything

The reason I asked is I've had a few friends ask wether she's too big to still 'believe' but they have infants so DD seems really big to them. Then my not so friendly friend said "I know she's creative and you encourage that sort of thing, but an 8 yr old believing in Santa is very odd"

So all this had me second guessing myself, the last time she asked I said look do you believe in Santa, and she said yes, so I said that's great I love Chrissy and Santa will be visiting us for a long time yet as little brother is only 20mths. She was happy with that, and on some level I think she knows, but just wants to hold onto it a little longer.

so after all the replies, I'm convinced she's not the only 8yr old still believing in Santa (Easter bunny and fairies are a big deal around here too )

Thanks for the replies they've been very helpful

DS is 8 and he still believes in Santa. He knows the shop Santas arent the real thing though.
A year ago I told him the Tooth Fairy isnt real and he was cool with that...until he lost another tooth...I told him to leave his tooth under the pillow for the tooth fairy and he said "you told me there wasnt one" and looked a bit sad so I said "yeah well maybe I lied ". He got all excited about it.....he wanted to believe and easily believed again quickly.
