Default 7-year-old Christmas present ideas... HELP!

Buying presents for a 7-year-old is hard!

She's MY 7-year-old too... which makes it seem strange, but once I explain, hopefully you'll understand and be able to offer some great suggestions!

*I don't think she's THAT into toys anymore. Advertising gets to her, but she never really plays with the things she has... she's more likely to read, write stories or play with electronic crap.

*She has a DS, a computer and a TV of her own. She has access to a ps3, a wii and an xbox 360. We have iPhones that she has played on before. She has used DP's iPod touch too. She has her own stereo. DP wants to get a new WiiU. Basically, I don't think she needs an iPad or any such thing... she's got enough technology to waste her time on already (BUT if there are excellent games/etc for any of hte above... let me know!).

*She has no sibling to play with her, so any games that require more than her, mean I have to do it... and I will... sometimes... but I'd rather her not have a large amount of objects that require me to play... kwim?

*She is quite bright, and loves reading - any book suggestions?

*She already has a trampoline, a swing set, a bike, a scooter and a paddle pool.

*She owns a million Barbies, lego things, polly pocket junk, etc.

*She has a pet mouse and 2 pet fish of her own.

*She can't do "experiences" at animal parks because she's not really old enough yet.

*She is unco and is quite pale - therefore she kinda sucks at sport and doesn't like spending lots of time outside... so she plays on the things above outdoors, but actual sporting stuff is not something she'll be happy with.

BLEH! I dunno what on earth to get her.

I asked... she wants a hula hoop. Lol. That's setting the bar REALLY LOW - those things cost about $10. She's no help, clearly.

    PLEASE HELP ME! *cries*

    Sounds like my 7yo DD!
I haven't asked her what she wants yet, I have no doubt she will ask for a DS but she's not getting one. Other than that, she likes all the flavour of the month toys but then doesn't play with them. Actually for her bday afew months ago she got alot of FurReal friends which she does play with.

Art and craft stuff is good like a PP mentioned.
Books- what about a nice hard cover box set of something? Some of the classics. If you have a speciality kids book shop they have some beautiful books, I could spend a fortune on them if I had it!

My DD loves writing too, and she loves her little key lockable diary. One of her friends has an electronic lockable voice password protected type thing for her diary, specifically aimed at girls. That could be an idea, though it's still not quite at that big Christmas present level!

So yeah I'm abit stuck as well! I might ask her this arvo and see if she comes up with anything more substantial!

    Books I would suggest;

-Roald Dahl (Witches, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).
-Enid Blyton ( I see Kmart has these out for $5.00 a book (only the revised editions) ).

What about little sets to make jelewry, lip balm, soaps etc?

What about tickets to water park? I wouldn't have thought she was to young for that and gives you something to do in the school holidays.

    Personalised products (Book, pencils etc)

A camera with some little scrapbooking supplies?

Fishing rod and set? You can get super cool pink and purple sparkly stuff. Another activity for school holidays.

Some small gift vouchers? She might enoy buying some clothes/shoes/accesories for herself.

The folk of the faraway tree books by Enid blyton are awesome. You can buy really lovely hard cover illustrated A4ish size books that she can hang onto for years and pass onto her children. That's what my mum did for us. I'm not sure if the tomorrow series by John marsden is for that age but those books are fantastic as well.
    Anything crafty or jigsaw puzzles??

Default 7-year-old Christmas present ideas... HELP!

I've got a not very sporty 8 yr old, last year she got some books e. blyton, and if she's really girly and into fairys the rainbow magic series of books, a little bag with some lipsmackers stuff. Smiggle bits n' pieces.

Or if you want to splurge an iPad!
