Default What do you regret buying your child?

The thing I regret buying my dd is a bathroom step, I bought it for her when she was about 18 months thinking it would be great for her to be able to see herself in the mirror whilst washing her hands , brushing her teeth etc.. But it's never in the bathroom! She uses it to get things off the kitchen bench, pantry and even open the security door to the front yard. I constantly trip over it in the kitchen and when I do need to wash her hands I have to pick her up as its never there!

Surly I am not the only person that regrets buying something for their child that seemed like a great idea at the time, with Christmas coming up does anyone have anything they would like to add to try and prevent others regretting their purchases

Haha. We had the same thing with DD and her step. She's pretty good now and usually only uses it in the bathroom and toilet.

I regret buying her so many toys!!!! She has way too many. That's about it though.

Sometimes I regret buying dd a horse. He costs a lot to keep and he is very time consuming but she loves him and rides him almost every day.

If I could do it again I'd just get her lessons, much much cheaper lol.

I didn't buy it as such, but Christmas 2010 I got my old dolls house out of storage (my dad built it for me when I was little), spent ages painting it, bought new furniture for it, set it up in front of the tree on Christmas... and DD pretty much ignored it. She's played with it maybe twice. I shouldn't have been surprised, DD never appreciates anything lol

pink haired popstar and the princess barbie I bought it for dd2 because of the pink hair and dd3 likes to follow me around making it sing all day long. It's now having a little holiday in the top of my cupboard because Mummy has had a headache for a few days and needs a break.

I regret buying dd and ds an ipad each. They swap, scream, yell and everything else while playing them and they MUST play same App! There has been a few times where i said they are going back to the store and they will never have one again that works most of the time.

Oh and these fake Iphones with sounds. Oh how much i hate them they make the most annoying sound/music
