    I think you can see a huge difference in kids that are talked to all the time. I have 2 nephews who are only 3 months apart age wise. The one who's parents talk to him ask the time has excellent language skills and communicates fantastically, the other one only says mum and dad. Now I know it's not the be all and end all but it does make a difference.

    Absolutely I do and I couldn't give a stuff what other people think. I think it's weird to not talk to babies and kids.

    DD is 8m & we have a good old chat whilst shopping. I tell her what I've taken off the shelf, what we need next, what we'll do after. It keeps her entertained as she babbles back to me

    I couldn't care less what other people think as long as I don't have a screaming baby to deal with as well as a wonky trolley
