Default Re: Delightful December 2012 testing thread!

So, I did my opk this afternoon and I had a faint line. I immediately thought that I had missed my O and because we didn't dtd last night, I rang my dh at work absolutely devastated (tears and all). Poor dh, I don't think he knew what to do! LOL! Anyway I'm planning an early night and we are going to keep dtd. Hopefully I haven't missed my O because I'm still feeling a little crampy now. I'll keep testing to see what happens. My online calendar says I'm not due to O until Thursday so tbh I'm completely confused

They sure do like to keep us guessing!! I would just keep testing a couple of times a day, if possible just to be really sure.

In terms of drinking through December, my drink of choice is vodka and diet coke so I don't know that anyone would be none the wiser

MrsLA you could always say you're doing dry December? ( don't they have one in feb?) or health kick? I planted the seed a weeks ago ( got very drunk - and hung over and saw I would never drink again) or you could just keep a drink in your hand all night and not drink

i have planted seeds for the extra drs appointments if needed already No need to worry about the drinking side of it, i dont drink...ever

As for the drinking... Try non alcoholic wine? Carbonated apple/grape juice? Otherwise, go "Vodka and orange" minus the vodka...

I'm lucky I'm not a drinker anyway so this side of it helps. It's hard to give advice on this one not knowing what you are normally like but could you possibly say that you are trying to get healthy and cutting out alcohol is part of it? I've used this as an excuse before when I've had peer pressure to drink alcohol and no questions were asked. I do drink wine every now and again but after many many very bad nights when I was younger I vowed to become a 'one drink' at social events kind of person, lol.

Well, we DTD last night thank goodness so we are at least in with a chance! I definitely O'd sometime yesterday/last night because I have the horrible crampy uterus pain today that I get after O. So I guess that means I'm officially in the TWW again! Blurgh, it's going to d r a g.

My friends and family know me too well, and if I said I was doing dry december or trying to be healthy they would laugh at me (which is probably not a good thing) I am a pretty healthy person, by my weekend wine is my guilty pleasure
i usually drink wine or vodka and lemonade so when we are out I can do just lemonade, but it will be hard at friends places for BBQ's (which we do a lot) where I drink wine or pre mixed drinks
oh well, got to actually get utd first!!!!!

princess I hope it goes fast for you

I have not even o'd yet and its dragging, every time we dtd i find myself considering if its possible that it will contribute to our baby making!!!!

Good idea just having the same drink as you would usually mix the alcohol with.

I do this too!! When DH erm, finishes, I think woohoo, this is going to make us a baby! Then I lay in bed with my hips elevated slightly and think swim you good things swim!! Haha, then I wake up the next morning thinking 'I wonder if they are reaching my egg by now?', lol.

MrsLA, I feel you on the drinking front, my friends and family would laugh at me too and shove a drink in my hand! I like the old this is "vodka" and diet coke, no one would know

Ha ha I know the feeling, I do similar wondering if they are at the egg yet, when in reality I have no idea how long it takes!!

Still have another week til I even O, all this waiting does my head in and I'm not the most patient person at the best of times. Doh!
