    Default Constipation :-(

    Hi There

Im 17.5 weeks and now dealing with constipation. I never struggle with this normally.
Is there anything safe to take during pregnancy?
Im trying to eat plenty fruit & veg, dried apricots and I drink loads of water.

    Its not much fun.

    Any tips appreciated.

    Thank you

    Manny

Pear juice. A whole can with about the same of water. Stay home near the bathroom. It also makes a bit of gas.
Failing that, your GP might have some great ideas.

If things like prunes or pear juice don't work, I was prescribed 'Movicol' for constipation when I was preg with DS. I don't think you need a prescription though, so perhaps pay a visit to your chemist and ask or you might have to go to GP.

Metamucil? I remember having that early on in my pregnancy to help with indigestion and constipation...

Don't laugh, this has been really good for me

Get on your hands and knees, I usually do it on the bed, and lower your chest a bit. You could just brace yourself on your elbows. Now wiggle your bum. Side to side, circles, back and forth, get your whole torso involved in the movements. I usually do it for about 5 minutes, and most of the time I can go to the toilet straight away.

Just don't do it around your other half, mine lives in hope I'm warming up for something a bit more romantic!

Can of straight pear juice! But as someone else suggested stay close to the bathroom! You"ll have movement" (or several of them) within an hour or two!

Katherinelouise how did you ever discover such a technique?
