Default MRI Needed for shoulder work injury

    Hi ladies.

I just found out I was pregnant on Thursday night. I hurt myself at work and have a shoulder injury and I have and appt to see a specialist to have an MRI because I might have a tear along with a bursitis in my shoulder which might end up needed surgery but now I'm pregnant and cant have surgery, do you think it's possible to have my MRI though? Or should o wait until I'm over 12 weeks?

It would depend on the protocol of the place you go to get the scan done. Most places would not scan someone under 3 months. Some won't scan pregnant people at all unless medically urgent. It is considered safe to have an MRI while pregnant but remember MRI has not been around that long, if it is not medically necessary that you have the scan I wouldn't be having it.
Have you had an ultrasound of your shoulder yet?

Yeh I've had ultrasounds but the only way they can see if I have a tear or not is by MRI ill just have to see what the specialist says and the doctor
