Default Sydney ivf clinics and something to look forward to.

I saw Dr Benny but fell pregnant naturally by some miracle before starting any treatment. We've started TTC #2 and it's shaping up to be another long process so considering cutting the crap and going straight to some sort of assistance (prob IUI initially as our issues are male factor). My OB recommended Dr Matthews last time but she was booked out for months. Is she still hard to get into?

I'm not sure, I booked far in advance by choice, and the first time I was lucky to get in a bit earlier.

Yes she is, I find her quite abrupt & would have changed to Dr Benny if I could have, he did both my retrievals & found him to have a wonderful bedside manner (he held my hand until I went under)

Yeah he did my viability scan when I fell pregnant and I was terrified. I'd had a miscarriage previously and had found out i was losing the pregnancy at an early ultrasound. He was so friendly and reassuring, made me feel much better. I think I'd go back to him if we go down that road.

Hi cheals. I went to Dr Gamal Matthias and can't speak highly enough of him. He has rooms in bankstown and Miranda.

Thanks Bella. My husband I are hoping to fly to sydney to have these test done before the years over as no one in north qld performs this and we are moving to sydney in December. Not sure if this is the reason for our failed cycles but it is worth a go like you suggested

    Hi ladies,
Hubby and I have been seeing a FS for a year now. We've done 3 cycles of IUI and our FS wants to do a sperm re-test but has said he thinks IVF may be our best option. Being a public clinic that we go to for our IUI's, they do not do IVF so we'll need to decide where to go for IVF. It's so hard. We don't have private health and I don't really understand the whole Medicare rebate thing.
    Any advice/tips for us?

Becca - I think most of the rebates are through Medicare. Private health insurance generally only kicks in if you get admitted for some of the procedures I think. If you're near Westmead I think the clinic there is not for profit - that's what someone told me recently.
