    My dd1 has the solution. She came up with it all by herself a couple years ago (she is 7 now). Her and her friend or cousin were arguing over toys. The other wouldn't share and she didn't want them playing with it so she brought the offending toy to me and said in a stern voice "right, we can't share so take it off us so no one can play with it".

    My kids arent attached to any of their toys. Its really not them Im worried about though. They dont trow tantrums lol

    Depends on the age.

    Although I tend to say to my 4yr old DS in similar situations to let our guest playb with it as he can play with it anytime, whereas his friend cannot

    In situations I have been in, distraction is definitely my preferred way to deal with it, getting worked up tends to make the kids get worked up and more stubborn
