Is the single parenting payment per child? I think it's roughly $600 a ft night.

No, it's not per child. I think it's around $650/fn now.

    Default Re: Single parenting payment..

No it doesn't go up. It's the same for 1 kid as it is for 5 or more kids.

You might be thinking of FTB. FTB A you get more per each additional child you have. FTB B is at a per family rate.

Hi, I work with the Department of Human Services in a team that responds to questions about Centrelink payments and services on social media sites like this. Parenting Payment (single) is the same amount regardless of how many children you have. You may be eligible for the payment until your youngest child turns eight [or six, if you're receiving Parenting Payment (partnered)] depending on your individual circumstances. The current maximum fortnightly payment for Parenting Payment (single) is $663.70 (please note, amount current at date of posting). You can find more information about eligibility and payments rate for Parenting Payment here: www.humanservices.gov.au/parentingpayment

There have also been some recent changes announced to Parenting Payment which may affect you if you started receiving Parenting Payment before 1 July 2006. There's more information about the changes here: www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/enablers/centrelink/parenting-payment/changes-to-parenting-payment

Finally, HarvestMoon is right, Family Tax Benefit A is paid for each child and Family Tax Benefit B is paid to single parents and families with one main income (both payments depending on your individual circumstances). There's a lot of information about Family Tax Benefit A and B, including eligibility and payment rates, here: http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/family-tax-benefit-part-a-part-b

    Hope that helps!
