Default StriderPlus Second Seat for 3 year old?

    Hi,

We have the StriderPlus & Capsule from when I had my DD & will be resusing with #2 in June 2013

So when #2 arrives there will be a 34 month gap. Making DD nearly 3 years old.

Should I buy the second seat? Does a nearly 3 year old still need to seat available in the pram if wanted/needed and how long would she likely use a pram for if already nearly 3?

My DD is very tall & already 16kgs so I am just not sure if it is a waste of $160.

every child is different.. whilst some refuse to sit in a pram some would love it and sit in it til they are 4-5. i'd wait and see how she goes.. or you can always buy one of those buggy boards that attaches to the pram? or just buy a second hand seat of ebay so you're not paying full price.

As pp said, it depends on the child. My 3yr old has refused to go in the pram since she was 2 so we just let her walk and I use a baby carrier for the baby so I still have free hands.

Default StriderPlus Second Seat for 3 year old?

The toddler seat for the strider is only meant to take 15kg, we have one and would have to put my toddler in the top seat and new born in the bottom as my toddler is already 14kg+ and we are not even trying to conceive yet. My son is almost 19 months now his head is touching the hood but he mostly likes to walk now anyway so we won't be taking a pram soon.

    Thanks Ladies

My DD is pretty much touching the top now to & we don't even use the pram at the moment, just a stroller cause she likes to walk 99% of the time now to & I am sure in another 7 months she will like to walk even more.

Was just thinking about when out walking etc for when #2 comes along and having the option if we are out for the day & she needs a rest, but could always use the Ergo for baby & put DD in the main seat.

Can you put baby in the bottom seat or is that not suitable?

I don't drive so jasper rides in the back seat and he's 4. I usually put toys/snacks in the back pocket and I have a drink holder on the lower part of the frame so he's got his own little set up he's quite happy there.

Also with two kids it's good using the second seat to dump all their stuff. Lol. I often wind up with katelyn in the ergo and jasper in either seat he wants and I dump stuff on the other chair.

Check out eBay you might be able to pick up a cheaper one.

I was told at Mothercare & Bubs baby shops that the newborn is supposed to go in the toddler seat down below. and that the bigger child is supposed to sit on top.

Thanks Ladies, all very useful info.

How much does Jasper weigh? & do you find it really hard to push/steer with the weight of both kids?

Jasper is 19 kg (I think the seat goes up to 18 but what's 1kg? ) katelyn is 10-11kgs. I walk about 20klms a week and I won't lie on an incline its not exactly like pushing a cloud. Lol. But it steers really well for something so big and heavy. It is wide but it fits through a standard doorway.
