Default Pap smears - do u prefer male or female drs?

Umm I'm pretty easy about it. My GP is female and so far I've only have females at the clinic doing my scans and vag stuff.

I think I've got a pretty nice vagina so I am not too bothered really!

I used to prefer females but my Ob was male. After giving birth with various hands going up there I really don't care either way! My Ob also gave me a pap smear 6 weeks after birth and it was the quickest and most comfortable one I've ever had (despite me being VERY nervous!)

Not fussed really, so long as I'm comfortable with the dr.

Default Pap smears - do u prefer male or female drs?

I prefer female... I had a male doctor examine me before and after DDs birth. He was very rough and nasty and I felt utterly violated. After that I wouldn't let any male near me at the hospital and won't now.

Mind you I had one other male doctor check me at hospital and he was at least nice and made me feel safe.

I'm very fussy. My current normal gps I don't feel comfertable with (I mostly see a male, but will see another female dr if he's booked)- I love my male gp just not comfertable for either to see all of me yet!I have been putting it off (really bad) until I can afford to see a female private gyn I saw when I needed to check everything out or the male ob/gyn I saw when I had dd.Will go back to getting it done by a gp if I happen to see one that I feel ok with.

Doesn't worry me. I have seen so many vaginas in my line of work and know that they don't give it a second thought. It's just part of their job.

I feel a bit silly saying this but until I read this title it honestly didn't occur to me that people would have a problem with the gender of their doctor for that sort of thing.
Well of COURSE some people do... I just never considered it to be an issue myself so it didn't occur to me *chuckle*.
I figure that by the time a doctor is at the stage of doing pap smears etc in a GP's office, regardless of their gender they've probably looked at enough vaginas that they aren't going to be suprised by anything I've got.

I guess I can separate the clinical from the sexual very easily, some people not so much. Personal experience would be an issue too of course, I've only ever had men do a smear for me so I don't know the difference of having a woman do it but if I'm honest I don't feel any particular anxiety for either one.

I feel way more comfortable with female doctors. All my p.s' have been done by the same doctor & she's really good. If she were away, I'd wait for her to come back or if it were urgent, would def prefer a female doctor.
