    Default Girl's name

What does anyone think of the name Cecelia?

I love it and DH doesn't mind it, but says its a bit long. I suggested Cee as a shortened version/nickname. I love that too. What do you reckon?

If he thinks it is long what about Celia? Similar but shorter...

I wasn't that fussed on it but there was a Celia or Cecilia (can't remember which) in a book a read a few years back and it kind of grew on me

I also came across Celia in a book (We Need to Talk About Kevin, I think) and while I like it, I think its a bit old womany perhaps?

As an aside, do you think the spelling 'Cecelia' is ok?

I know a two year old Cecilia, she's gorgeous. She gets called CC (I think her middle name starts with C)

Yes I know the song! Thats where I first heard the name. Actually, I read on a baby name website (lol) that some people actually got teased about being called Cecilia because of the song - but I figure those people must be a quite old as what kind of kid would know that song these days?! So I think it'll be ok in that regard

Yep that was the book. You're right, it was Celia... for some reason I thought it was Cecelia but I just checked.

I think either spelling is fine
