Default DD suddenly refuses my breast.

I am a exclusively pumping mum and recently got my 3.5 months DD back on the breasts. We have been doing so well, initially started with 1 feed a day and got to 2 feeds in a week and a bit. However when it was feeding time yesterday she refused to suckle, she just looked at my breasts and cried, eventually I gave up and gave her the bottle of ebm. I am not sure what went wrong yesterday, I was thinking would it be the new deodorant that I used? I tried again this morning and she was doing the same thing, nearly giving up... I finally got her back but there was a bit of force which I didn't need to do before as DD would happily take my breasts for comfort sucking or feeding. She may fuss for a few seconds when the let down hasn't happened but once milk is flowing she doesn't want to get off until she sleeps. I just haven't seen DD cries that much when she sees my breasts, she wouldn't even touch it so it is not like there is no milk, fast/slow let down problems. I am not sure what to do?

I do find that DD will fuss, latching/unlatching, throw the head back and whine till the flow comes, especially when she's very hungry. It could be that ur bub was super hungry and just beside herself? They don't connect like hungry boob wait oh ya milk... it's more like hungry... Whawhawhaaaa where's my MILK!!!
keep trying they go through phases she will probably get back into it soon :-)

But why would she suddenly go on a nursing strike??? I wouldn't even call it nursing strike as she wouldn't even take my boobs for comfort sucking I am hopeless to settle her without my secret weapon...I will try again for my next feed, so it was so upsetting when it happened, it wasn't simply rejecting my breasts, but i felt she was rejecting me as a mother and I was all teary this morning.

Yesterday I thought she was in a bad mood as she didn't get her usual sleep in the morning, that was why she didn't want to BF. So i thought ok, I would give u the bottle. Then the next feed same thing happened, I gave her a bit of milk in a bottle, so she wasn't that hungry but she still refused to suckle. I thought would it be because I smelt funny so I had a shower. I offered my breasts again after the bottle but she still cried This morning, I gave her 2/3 bottle of ebm then offered the breasts, oh my god, she would cry as soon as her mouth was near my nipple... I was so hurt. I nearly cried but i managed to pull myself together, cuddled her, played with her, and when I saw she wanted to suck, I offered again, cried initally, but eventually took it. I hope next feed will go smoothly, as I have worked so hard to build my supply, so that we could go back to bf.

Have you tried when she's sleepy? My son went through a really similar thing (except he won't take a bottle) so he wasn't getting any milk. He would feed overnight and early morning, but no other time. It was hell getting him to sleep at night!!

After a few days, he started having the odd feed and now he's back on it.

yep tried that too...if my DD is sleepy she wouldn't even open her mouth for bottle or breast. That was why I tried again this morning after her 12 hours of sleep, and she was all smiling, but when she saw my boobs, she was crying so loud, and my husband told me to stop as he thinks i was torturing her
