Default Haircuts/styles for very thick, frizzy hair

I have really frizzy boofy hair to. I had the keratin straightening done a few months ago because I was sick of using the straightener all the time. It's been a few months and I can still just wash my hair and let it air dry and it stays nice and smooth and lovely. People have varying results with it, but for me it was well and truly worth it! My hairdresser charges $99, including the cut, so it wasn't a huge risk if it didn't work.

I'm thinking of trying it Mel cause mine is thick and a bit frizzy too and I pretty much have to straighten it everyday, drives me nuts!

I am thinking of going the Keratin straightened way as my hair is really thick. I have tried keratin shampoo and that has tamed the fizz.

I do straighten my hair but honestly now that I have 2 kids under 2 I just don't get all that much time to do it (my hair takes about 2 hours to straighten, but I am a perfectionist).

Make sure you get your hair tested before you get it chemically straightened. I was planning on doing it a few years ago and my hairdresser (who is a friend) suggested I go to her salon and get it tested because I have permed it in the past and coloured it a billion times since. She cut a bit of hair off and put the stuff on it and I went home. She called me back later on and said "yeah, your hair basically melted so I cant straighten it".

That would have been when they did it with perm solution London. They do it with a keratin solution now, which is different.

I had my hair short for years because like you it is a frizzy not hot mess. I would highly highly recommend a Keratin treatment. Keratin will not necessarily straighten your hair but will take out the frizz. So you can still have it wavy or straight (cuts down straightening time from 45 mins to 10 mins - but I never have to bother). I get it done every 6 months for $300 and it changed my life. I haven't had it done for 18 mths because of pregnancy/breastfeeding and I think about it all the time. Good news is my treatment has just been approved for preg/BF so I'll be getting it done ASAP after Christmas. As they say your hair is an accessory you wear everywhere so worth the money if you can swing it. Even stays awesome after salt water swims and humid stormy days. I can't tell you how this has changed the way I feel about myself. But I think the curl option sounds really good too. Good luck.
