This might sound really stupid but how can you tell the difference if its so close to post natal bleeding?

Not stupid, I thought I had an infection or retained products, had swabs and bloods and ultrasound and all clear. Then 4 weeks later bleeding again. It was a very strong coincidence that bubs slept 5 hours overnight hence not feeding every 2,3 or 4 hours and that was enough to shift the breast feeding hormones and trigger AF. Was totally ****ed as I wanted a good 6 months AF free.

I had this twice, was put on antibiotics immediately and sent for quick ultrasound. It was retained products as well, I had to have a d&c for one of them.

Saw gyno yesterday, for contraceptive discussion. He said not to worry, it would have been part of the post birth bleeding.

I had this too and it kind of hung around till about 8 weeks. I had a pap smear at my 6 week post-birth check up and I thought that may have somehow triggered it. Anyway, didn't get a period till my DS was 8 months old!
