    Default Post birth bleeding restarted

Has anyone had post birth bleeding restart? I gave birth 5 weeks ago, my bleeding pretty much stopped and was just a light pink discharge but then Wednesday it started up bright red but no clots. I'm praying its not AF returned already! I'm exclusively breastfeeding. I googled it and it says it can happen if you do too much. I have been lifting a lot of heavy clothes baskets, and helped DH lift a washing machine and dryer on Monday.. Any experiences? (I know I need to go to my GP, am going to try today if bubs settles).

I had bleeding on and off before AF came at 2 months. It was bright red which apparently isn't normal so Dr ordered an ultrasound. Nothing came of it but it's worth checking out

GP yesterday just said its probably AF and that was it?! Bleeding started on weds and has now stopped (sat). I'm not convinced and am hoping he is wrong. Bit annoyed as when i said i cant take hormonal contraceptives he also suggested going onto pill called yaz, when I asked if I could take it whilst BF he said no it has estrogen so will dry up my milk. So why even suggest it?! He's usually a good doctor.

Still confused, guess I have to wait for next month to see if it happens again?

Hi my bub was born 20th September. I stopped bleeding at 3 weeks for a week then started again with bright red bleeding no clots. It's just stopped again yesterday. I just figured I was doing to much. See your doctor if your worried.

I agree it's probably not your period returning.

My son is 6 weeks tomorrow, and my bleeding stopped at about 4.5 weeks for almost a week, then returned with some bright red bloods, but no clots. I had light bleeding for a couple of days, then a day of no blood, then a bit more blood yesterday.

I am exclusively breastfeeding, and my son is a big and regular feeder.

My midwife said it can start and stop.

I recently started bleeding again (stopped at 4 weeks and bub is now 7 weeks) and I started getting extremely intense cramps. Went to emergency bub didn't have retained products but they found I had an infection which was brought on from the last of the retained products leaving my body.
If you are at all concerned get yourself checked out.

Mine started up again too. Bright red again then got lighter and lighter in colour as it had done before. Midwife said I'd been doing too much. Never was it said that it was my period returning and I agree, and don't think yours is either. Maybe slow down a little and see another doctor if you're concerned.
