    Default Medicare rebate ???

Does anyone know about how much rebate I would get back from a standard concessional gp consult $49 ? my normal doctor usually bulk bills me but is away ATM and I'm having to see a different doctor

That's cheap as! I pay $79 and get back something like $36?..... So you might get around $15/20?

I have a couple of docs, they all charge around $50-$60 full price, but I ask to just pay the gap on the day, costs me around $20-$25. Then I get a cheque in the mail from medicare for the rest made out to the doctors.

Really wow I thought that was expensive! I've always been bulk billed never had to pay to see a doctor before so was rather shocked that it was $49. Got me thinking as to why the hospitals are so over run cause Doctors are exy

I pay around $65 and get around $35 back into my bank...

But what's with that cheque thing? It makes no sense to me why the gp's cheque would be sent to the patient. I'm terrible for passing it onto the gp, sometimes it takes me ages and I wonder how many people just don't bother at all. I can't think of any other example where A sends B a payment for C. Dumb system!

I think i pay $55 and get $25 back. That's the concession, short consult fee though. So it can be more expensive.
It sucks to have to pay but there is basically no such thing as a bulk billing doctor around here.

It is rather crapola that you have to pay to see a doctor and I'm pretty sure mines a short consult too as I'm just getting a new script. But omg did I give the rude receptionist a serve
