Default Help with debt.... Possibly a debt consolidation....

    Hi there

At the moment Im really struggling with my finances, and im trying to work out how to pay everything off cheapest and fastest way possible... I pretty much owe money here there and everywhere!

Im looking at a debt consolidation (NOT an debt agreement) and would really like peoples experiences and personal advice (i know people may not be able to give professional advice) - Im currently only on centerlink payments, so would have to be approved with this as my income....

Long story short, I lost my job when I was 18 weeks pregnant due to staff cuts . I have a few credit cards, which were all payed off, nothing owing.... But once I lost my job I wasnt eligible for centerlink payments, and had no money, so to buy things I used my credit cards (stupid i know!) but now my LO is almost one and Im still struggling to pay everything

So im just after some advice and options on what I could do to help myself

(also please dont say to get a job as I have had a few jobs, but was actually getting more on centerlink.... I also have a new full time job lined up, but will only be getting about an extra $100 per fortnight than what I get now, which will help but stil not a huge amount.)

    Sorry this was so long

    And thankyou for your help!

Sorry to hear about your situation. I have heard there are financial advisors at centrelink you can talk to? Someone might have to correct me if I'm wrong...

Can you ring your cradtr card providers and ask about hardship arrangements they have? Usually they will reduce or stop all interest and can offer a low repayment option so that you can get back on your feet.
