Default Hernia on DP and him being stubborn

DP was told he has a Hernia last week. He is going for a ultra sound next week to confirm. The doctor said if it because very painfull (just slightly norm) to go to hospital.

I just got up to see if he had fallen asleep on the couch like he always dose and I find him awake and in pain. He said the dog jumped on it (small dog) and his taking deep breaths in clutching near where it is. Iv told him to go to the hospital but he dosnt think the pain Is that bad yet his taking these deep breaths in the sound like its painfull IYNWIM

    Should he go?

Default Hernia on DP and him being stubborn

My DH has a hernia. Has done for about three years and has done nothing to get it fixed. Typical male. It's not particularly dangerous to health or anything but yes, if the dog jumps on his tummy or something it does hurt him apparently.
I keep doing the nagging wife thing to get him to fix it. Unless its constantly painful without someone hitting him there he should be okay.
Well at least that's my understanding.

He really needs to go to hospital asap.
My df had a spontaneous hernia about 3 years ago. It popped out just below his sternum around 1pm and he was in surgery at 5pm. If they explode it can be very serious. DF was in agony, ive never seen anyone in so much pain.
He had to take 3 months off work. For the first month he wasnt allowed to pick up anything that weighed more than a book.
He is completely fine now and just had a piece of mesh under his skin to stop it happening again.

It depends on the type of hernia too. As to how bad it is. And yes they can rupture.
