Default Af still going 21 days later??

    hi guys,

well i still have my first AF since i have had my ds.... i also started the pill 1st day that i got my period and now i am up to the sugar tablets but i still have my period It isn't spotty, and it also isn't heavy, sorry for tmi but it is still that bright red colour has reached the stage of that brownish colour when it is nearly finished (tmi)!!
Been to the doctors first she gave me a pregnancy test (urine) which came up negative (don't know why she did that) then she told me to see how i go in two weeks once i start my second months worth of the pill- if i still have it she will change my pill to a stronger one.. But i have been on this pill b4 and had no problems and don't feel comfortable going up a dose....
has anyone had the same problem as me??? sorry for the long post

    Default Sorry Tmi Alert

i had problems similar to yours when i had my depo injections when beth was 4 months old. it was all good for 2 months then i started bleeding on and off for a month. i got my next shot and continued bleeding for a few more weeks. because of all the bleeding i decided not to get my next shot and everything was fine until 2 weeks after it was due. i got my period and it was brown old blood (sorry for tmi) after a week it changed to red blood and was like a normal period. this lasted about 8 weeks. i had pregnacy tests and ultrasounds and they couldn't see anything wrong with me.

Sometimes it takes a while for the pill to work properly in your system, I'd give it another couple of months and see if things settle down into a more normal cycle. It's probably just your body getting used to the hormones.

I had this with my depo shot when DD was 2.5 months old. It lasted just over 3 weeks, and even though in the past I've had no AF with the injection, I've now got it again. TMI alert - it's completely different than it used to be too, used to be really heavy for about 4 days and then just stop. But now it's a really light flow and pinky-brownish colour, and stops for half a day or so and then comes back.
I checked with the GP and she told me that it just takes a while for our bodies to return to "normal" after a baby, and that contraceptive side-effects etc wouldn't be the same as pre-pregnancy for awhile (eg periods with pill and depo etc), and that periods last longer because the uterus is still slightly enlarged for awhile too.
Men have got it so easy!
