Default What really happens in an abortion?

I was on Facebook today and some troll put up an image from a pro-life campaign showing what happens in abortion, I didn't know how to take it as it seemed so unethical and just not something anyone would do atleast not in the modern culture. So I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a trusted source that wouldn't be trying to use propaganda to influence people that could tell me if what I saw was true. It's been bugging me ever since I saw it...

There are different types of abortions, but if you want it sugar coated i guess you should google Marie Stropes International Australia. There site just explains basics, well IMO anyway. Everyone thinks differently and is entitled to their opinion, but its not a bad thing to do more research then to just believe the propagandized stuff that is mostly shown. And just because something seems unethical and wrong, doesn't mean thats not whats occurring.

I guess I am a little challenged/confronted by your actual question OP. Are you suggesting that you would only be ok with termination if it is different to what you saw? I can't help but feel that this is a bit of an underhanded way of having a go at people who have had terminations or who are pro choice.

Just because something looks bad doesn't make it so. We all know the outcome of an abortion. I think a stronger approach would be to decide whether you're ok with the outcome of abortion, because this will determine whether you can accept the process.

Actually i had a termination myself, and I was not told it was anything like what I saw. I was very young and I get the impression it was sugar coated. I feel a bit cheated that I wasn't informed of what exactly was going on...If that is what happened. As I said it was from a pro-life campaign so it could have been propoganda. What I saw just didn't seem probable, it seems there are certainly other ways they could do it, that was why i wanted to know if there was any truth to it.

I didn't come here to be attacked or to attack anyone I just wanted some suggestions on places I could go where they would tell me honest and impartial truth.

OP- I don't feel your Q is having a go in an underhanded way at anyone, it sounds like you are just looking for info. Marie Stopes foundation is a great place to start. It's hard to know if what you saw is correct - any pics would have been CG - but the reality is it's different depending upon the gestation at the time, late term is far different from early term. You can pm me if you wish as I'll get flamed if I describe the process here.
Just because you are ok with the outcome doesn't necessarily IMHO make the procedure any easier to hear about. It's just that at that time the outcome of abortion is more preferamble for that person. I am ok about abortion; I'm very pro choice but still find the process to be a little hard to hear about; especially very late term terminations.
I hope you find the answer s you are seeking.

Not necessarily. Based on this theory, if one is happy to wear a diamond necklace.....it is then irrelevant that those diamonds were mined by child labor in Africa?

All aspects of something need to be considered when an individual is deciding whether or not something is ethical/for them.

I did online chat with someone from Marie stopes. She said what I saw wasn't true, but I'm still not sure as she was quite blunt and didn't seem to want to discuss it further. I think I may just ask my OB next time I see him.
