It's after the financial year though? You should be right if you don't go over.

I think its a good idea 3K is still pretty generous. If you have 3 kids you'll still get 11k all up, i think thats more than enough to help when you have a baby. I'd rather see that money go to other things. like upping the aged pension.

Dont see why anyone would have a massive issue with this. You dont have babies to get the baby bonus so who cares how much it is, its a BONUS.....if you DO have babies to get the baby bonus well then you're a complete fool and thats a whole other thread.

Default Cuts to baby bonus to balance budget

Whoo! My baby can't be 3 weeks late so I'll still get the full amount.

My business isn't massive. I'm a work at home as a florist but work in weddings and am not willing to take on weddings in my last 3 months of pregnancy due to the risk of potentially ruining someone's wedding day. And my business doesn't generate enough profit to explain enough hours to push me over.

The 5k "bonus" gives me 3 months before the birth and 3 months after the birth as my maternity leave. I just go into minus for the last 3 months, which we dealt with fine last baby.

I love hand me downs! Much better for the hip pocket and the environment.

Yeah i agree with the reductions, we were very fortunate to recieve a decent BB each child and subsequent child, but it didn't factor our decision to have more, it was definately a good bonus though, and realistically we still had all the major stuff, just bought a new pram and that was about it TBH.

I don't have a problem with it. I didn't receive baby bonus this time around and I was lucky enough to receive the 5k lump sum as a bonus with my first which paid for all the big ticket items and yeah 2nd + children are cheaper this bubs has 2nd hand everything nearly and you wouldn't know.
I agree with an earlier poster since when have government handouts become a rite of passage.
