Default Safe N Sound Meridian Tilt & Adjust

Is there a 'cheaper' version of this car seat? From everything I've heard, it sounds like the best one out there (although I'm open to other recommendations), but whilst I want DD to be as safe and comfy as possible, I'm just not sure I need to spend all that money. The reason I say this is that when pram shopping before DD was born, we went for the Steelcraft Strider Plus as opposed to the cheaper version, the Cruiser. The Cruiser is basically the same thing, just with less bells and whistles. At the time I wanted the best of the best but now that DD is here, I honestly didn't have to spend all that extra money. The Cruiser would have been just fine. We really don't have the money to make the same mistake again, so any advice would be appreciated!

BTW, I have a Camry and no other children, so size isn't an issue.

I've heard good things about the Neon from BigW - it's got high RF lines too

It rates the car seats in terms of safety, so you might find one that's more in your budget.
Another option might be, although some will say its a big no no, is buying a meridian off eBay?

The new CREP results will be out some time this month- it might be worth waiting to see how the new seats rate?

Britax (Safe n sound) has just redesigned all their carseat models, there are plenty of good models out there which are safe and suitable it just depends what you want in a seat. I've got the Meridian and I had the Platinum for my 2 girls and I like the seats but if you don't want to spend huge buy a cheaper model. In Big W they sell the new Sleep n Recline, and in Target they sell the Trojan. Infa-Secure have new seats on the market much cheaper then the Meridian. You are right it does have all the "bells and whistles" but the reason I went with the Meridian is because it did everything I need/wanted it to do.

There are so many choices. They are in these seats so much and so long so try and consider how much use you are going to get out of it and then compare prices. We travel lots so the safest and most comfortable one will be our choice.

Britax make SnS and babylove, the babylove are cheaper, taller and rate high in safety. We have both.
