    Thanks guys

I don't mind people who say oh that's different in s nice tone.. Its just the ones who obviously are saying ew really with their facial expression.
    They should realise that's offensive.

We didn't tell anyone his name before he was born as we knew people would put it down and try ruin it.
Pp Percy is a gorgeous cute name i love that!

I named my daughter's unusual names. I get those comments all the time, I don't mind if they are just saying it...it would bother me if someone was rude about it.
A name is something that people always has a opinion about. If it is a common name, then that can be percieved as plain or boring. If it is a different name then it is weird, if it is a classic name then that is a old name.
Don't worry not everyone loves the same names, thankfully otherwise all our babies would be called the same name

I've been told "jasper" is an unusual name.

I kinda don't want to mention his middle name is turbo after that. Haha.

Ha ha! Now Turbo is unusual - is there a story behind that? I love the name Jasper, but DH didn't

OP I get the opposite - my son has a very common name so some really rude people say 'couldn't you be more original?' or 'wow he will be 1 of 10 at school in class'.....

Although his name is common, we don't know any others in our whole group of family/friends/associates. We always loved it so stuck with it.

I've got an unusual name too. I copped a lot of negativity growing up but now it's not so bad, I just get asked to repeat it because they didn't catch it the first time.
