    Sorry to hear octoberbaby

Fort - I've read that because implantation occurs earlier with ivf that initially hcg levels are lower...so hoping this is true in your case

AFM i had a troubled sleep and about to head off for a hectic day at work, been into my clinic this morn because i was unaware i was meant to refriderate my pregnyl i was positive the nurse told me not too and to keep in cub broad! anyway sorted how.

I came across this info in another forum from a poster - makes sense to me and may help ease minds or not lol

1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

Octobub and Fort - I am sorry for your news. Fort, I hope you're wrong but if not i'll meet you for a FET soon. Octo, you and hubby obviously will need time to work out where to from here. It's lovely to hear you talk about your DS and to know you have him to focus on if you decide to step off this roller coaster. That question you pose is so difficult and one we will all face with unsuccessful attempts. 'When do you decide it's not meant to be'. You see people on BH who have done over 10 cycles over several years and get a BFP. I see that and I think ok if I keep going eventually it has to work! But I'm not sure that is true. I hope we will all find a way to know the right time to stop but mostly that if we do we feel ok in ourselves about it.

Ladies who did a 5 day transfer, I would very much appreciate if you can please respond to this poll question (please use the link).

POLL: What day did you test positive with a 5 day transfer?

I'm sure this will help many others in their TWW. Thanks

Thanks for the hugs Fort and the lovely words Kheeki. It's so hard to know what to do. If I knew eventually we would be successful, I definitely would keep going. But our cycles are getting worse and worse and I am certainly losing hope - not to mention money!

If, and it's a big if, we go again, I think it's time to change clinics and get a second opinion. Perhaps a fresh approach might help. At the moment, I am completely exhausted from the last 12 months - and 4 years prior to that. I was so lucky to get DS on cycle no. 2 and didn't think another 5 cycles + 2 cancelled later, I would still be here. I guess we need to take a break, start living again and see how things wash up. In the meantime, I'll be cheering from the sidelines and hoping for BFP's for all you lovely ladies xx
