    Default Montessori experiences please!

I took 2 year old (tomorrow!) DS to toddler preschool at Southside Montessori today ( Riverwood-Sydney South) and I was really impressed and DS loved it! I've heard good and bad experiences but would love to hear your experience? When did they start, how did you find it? How did they transition into main****** high school?

    Hi Elijahs Mum

DD started at Montessori when she was about 2 1/2. At that stage it was just a few hours in the morning and was with a parent/guardian. It was all individual work with a group snack time and songs (which DD refused to participate in).

She then got a place at the regular Montessori, which starts at 3 years old, and have been at Montessori ever since (she is nearly 9) We have always been fairly happy with the Montessori way but not always with the teachers. Actual Montessori schools are much better than a Montessori ****** (attached to a regular primary).

Can't help you with your last question, as she isn't at high school yet but have heard from kids that graduated from DD current Montessori school and they all transitioned well.

Thanks Ana, that's what we did today the toddler one where I stayed- I just really loved their philosophy and the way they interact with the kids , his teacher was wonderful and he loved it so I've booked him in to go once a week and then he will start pre school there at 3
I've already noticed little things he did today that he did at home tonight ( little things like pushing his chair in when he gets up and putting his plate in the sink!)
