I'm hoping to find out what we're having. I'm not good with surprises, and want to be able to get gender specific clothes and stuff before the birth. What about you?

Then on actual Xmas will be spend at my sister-in-law her husband 2 kids, my mother-in-law and my husbands step brother, his wife and little daughter...fun times! Hopefully will be good as my inlaws can be a bit much sometimes!
    Sounds like fun.

I'm wondering how to prepare the Xmas ham so it is safe to eat while pregnant. Does it have to be boiling hot?

I won't be finding out the sex. We found out with DD but my dad really didn't want to know s we kept it a secret from everyone and it was extremely difficult. This time we are having a surprise which I am really excited about as it will be nice for something different this pregnancy.

We're not finding out either. Don't want to buy gender specific clothes and love the fact that we are getting ready for a baby either girl or boy.
    Twice as much day dreaming!!

Just wanted to say that in the vast majority of women, the heart-beat is not visible until 6w2d at the earliest. Therefore, to avoid unnecessary anxiety, try to organise the scan closer to 7 weeks. So FelH, I would wait a few more days...better to have a reliable result than the stress of having to be re-scanned and worrying yourself sick.

I actually had another scan late today, given my history of early pregnancy loss. All was fine! 10w0d today, HR 174, and it was moving about like a party-girl/boy!! Definitely 2 arms, 2 legs, one head! So very pleased. Next hurdle is NT scan at 12w, so not too long.

We will definitely want to know gender at 20w scan...I want to finally sort out Oscar's old baby clothes! I don't really have a preference (or a choice!), but still want to know.

Glad your scan went well J

As for the two topics of conversation, we don't plan on finding out what we are having we just want a healthy bub and either boy or girl is fine for us

For Christmas we are flying to Melbourne Christmas Eve and driving to my parents, we will be there about 2am Christmas morning, only my mum and brother know we are coming it will be a surprise for dad (Who will be at work when we arrive) sister, nephew and grandparents.
