Congrats on your pregnancy Channy! I had a 7 week scan yesterday. He tried to do it on my tummy but my uterus was still tilted back so he couldn't see anything. I had an internal which was only for 2 minutes & not overly uncomfortable. You are so distracted by watching the screen that you barely notice it.

It is sooooo hot in Melbourne today! Its making the nausea hard. I would LOVE a Slurpee right now but I don't want to go out! Sitting inside watching movies with DS & the dogs Take care everyone

I'm quite glad I'm due in the winter as well ds1 was born in jan which was really hot but on his 1st birthday it was the hottest day in January!!! It was quite unbearable!! I was pretty much in shorts and singlets for the last month of my pregnancy as we didn't have an air con then!!

Internal, always. How full your bladder is is irrelevant!!

I did one with DS, a nice one I bought in the UK, and bought the same one off ebay to do this time so they're both matching. Last time I took bump pics every 2-4 weeks and also pics of the pregnancy test and scan photos. Lovely to look back on now. I don't want to start this one yet though as worried it'll jinx it! Will record elsewhere and then write it in when I'm 'safe'.

I had one when pregnant with DS and it was internal. Getting one this time too through the fertility centre, should be around 15th Dec, but haven't heard details yet.

I am 4 + 5 today and got more bloods done this morning to check rising levels. Results at 2pm, so fx they will be over 1200, as were 618 on Monday. Still no symptoms really, much like my first pregnancy, just occasionally aching in my uterus and have lost the plot a couple of times and screamed at DH.....but can't tell if that's hormones or just because he drives me insane sometimes lol

The detail with a transvaginal is SO much better than transabdominal. At 8 weeks, you are lucky to see a smudge of a baby!! Transabdominal scanning has to contend with the layer of fat, muscle, then bowel, before it reaches the uterus. Vaginal probes go straight to the source!!
Most 12-week scans are abdominal, but my bubba was so active but recalcitrant, wouldn't get into the correct position...so we switched to vaginal, and after poking my belly a few times, we got a good view. The vaginal probe is barely noticeable when it's in. Really no big deal. And they are always terribly discrete and respectful about it all...sheets draped appropriately, etc.

The probe didn't really bother me. I was too distracted looking at my little bub to even care. I was glad she didn't even try abdominal, less stressing while she tried to find something.
