Default Professional makeup for Baby Shower?

Is it way too OTT to get hair and make up professionally done for your baby shower?

I'm the type of person that bums around in jeans and casual clothes all the time, hardly ever wear make up or 'do' my hair, and to be honest it looks pretty cr*p when I attempt it. Do you think it'd be ridiculous for me to hire someone to do my hair and makeup on the day, obviously I still want to look natural and not over done up but I feel like so many people are going to such effort to throw me a really nice shower, I'd like to look like I at least made an effort. What do you think?

Also the people I'd usually ask to help me out AKA best friend, SIL, close cousin, are all helping organise the shower so don't want to over burden them on the day.

I would never say it is 'required' but if you want to make it extra special by doing that and paying for it, then go for it.

It's not something I would ever think of doing, but I think it's a great idea. You get so few excuses to pretty it up when you're pregnant, and let's face it, that's when lots of us really feel like we need it! Go for it, I say

Default Professional makeup for Baby Shower?

It's probably not necessary, but if it makes you feel better, then go for it!!!! It's fun to have a reason to get all dolled up!

Thanks for all the positive replies! I think I'll go for it, why not, I've been wearing the same pair of elastic band pants for weeks and could really use an excuse to feel good and not like a beached whale!

Absolutely do it! Great idea. I think a baby shower is up there with the most important 'parties' of your life - like 21st and weddings. I wish I had in retrospect!
