Default Do I need a dishwasher?

The way I look at it……… you don't wash your clothes by hand, so why wash your dishes by hand . thank god DH agrees so in my own home I'll be getting one.

you must be super organized!! hehe.

I get up and do the dishes every morning but HATE drying so they usually sit there all day. I hate looking at them there too. It's like they are nagging me to put them away

It's so much easier, cleaner, and tidier.

Easier because you don't have to do anything.

Cleaner because you don't end up with DH washing your glasses in a sink full of manky grey dish water.

Annnnndddd ... tidier because you never have dishes on the sink!

I'd be lost without mine ! I'm one of those cooks who uses every plate/bowl/utensil known to man so our dishwasher is full after every meal!

    OP don't be fooled !!

We put everything in the dishwasher ... including the electric frypan (still going strong 7 years later lol)

I always put pots and knives in, the dishwasher does all the hard work so i dont have to.

If something is burnt/really filthy etc, i might soak it in water on the sink overnight then load it in next morning.

And if the dishwasher doesn't get it clean the first time... well you just give it another wash in the next cycle LOL

The only thing i dont put in there is my cast iron casserole dish cos it is too big and heavy... but pretty much everything else is fair game. Nothing ruined yet

My gosh. I don't do swear words. How dare you swear at me! Lol

    I love our dishwasher.

The major pro for having a dishwasher.. They use less water than if you were to hand wash. It is true. Our last dishwasher packed it in and the heating element went on it so I had to drain it into a bucket cos it wouldn't empty.. Long story.. But I discovered that it only used 1 and a half buckets of water. And if I were to wash the same amount of dishes by hand I would have used twice that by the time I finished cos the sink water would have needed replacing half way through the huge pile that went into the dishwasher.

Get one and don't swear like that again.

Yep. We chuck everything in our dishwasher. I never had one until I moved in with dh, and I would hate to go back to handwashing now. Such a time saver
