Default help relationship or no relationship

    Hello all-
been asked by family report writer whether we

    - want child to have relationship with bio father?

    or whether

-we dont want child to have relationship with bio father?

we dont really know what to say.... if we said 'no relationship' then we know this wont look good in the courts eyes... but believe this would be best (for lots of reasons)

childs bio parent lives in US and visits once a year, child had no contact for four years (aged 8) (refuses to see him-go supervised contact etc)

anyone any idea what courts view would be and how contact would be enforced given other bio parent lives abroad?!

I think without knowing the back story it's hard for anyone to answer. Sorry.

I would go along the lines of you would like to have a supervised relationship between child and bio father.

Saying you want zero rel when there is not a history of abuse/violence/neglect would be looked upon poorly.

If it gives you space...maybe say due to the limited contact history, you want a supervised relationship until your child feels safe and comfortable to make their own choice later in life.
