Just thought that I'd pop in to add that I'm planning to make some olive tapenade and microwave jam as well :-) looks easy and hopefully works out well!

I found heaps of craft ideas at spotlight today. There were wooden picture frames kids can decorate and give to grandparents or parent. Wooden Christmas decorations, and small canvases with pictures that they colour in with paint. All were under $3.00.
plus they had lots of mason jars and glass jars perfect for yummy treats. All reasonably priced.

Love this thread! I'm gunna try the crafty pressie thing this year. So many people and kids to buy for and you just never know people's taste or what they have already!
Was just googling and found DIY cup coasters. 4 plain white tiles, nice scrap book paper or even photos to make it personal. Glue them on to the tiles. The website says cover in clear drying glue, not sure why. And the put a water proof vanish over the top.

I've done this. I used modge podge over the top and cork underneath the tiles. They looked great!
