Default Anyone here have a child with sensory defensiveness?

We were told today that DD1 might have this, I need to organise to get her properly assessed by an OT. I'm just interested to talk to parents of kids who may have had the same diagnosis. How was your child diagnosed, what treatments were done, how did they help, what did you find useful/not... anything at all that you care to talk about.

Oh that's kind of you, but no need to apologise It's a specific diagnosis, a type of SPD I believe tho I don't know much about it. Thanks for the offer tho

Our DS has this and we are working with an OT to try and help. Firstly we are doing brushing therapy and a sensory diet as well as trying to get him used to sensations on his face and in his mouth. He has issues with face wiping, eating textured foods, wearing his hearing aids, tooth rushing to name a few. Plus he hates touching different textures with his hands and feet. He is also a sensory seeker so doesn't stop moving ever and mouths everything like curtains, paper, chew toys etc hth
