This, just ask her where it is.

I understand you wanting to get it back but I do think the whole "she's holding on to it so she can craftily visit my new baby" thing is a bit of a stretch. She's either too lazy to find it or has broken/lost it. Just go round, ask her where it is and why she wont give it back if its botheringcyou this much.

Default baby bath on lend and getting it back....

I would ring her or send a text saying that you are getting all your things prepared for your new arrival and that you would like your bath back, I would tell her you will come on 3 different days so she can have an option of choosing and if she says she's not available. I would then tell her you have priced other baby baths and would like the money of she doesn't have the bath anymore.

Stop beating around the bush and come straight out and ask her.

This. I think she's definitely passed it on and now it's done your head in a bit leading to the 'doing it to see my baby' conspiracy theory.

Ask her straight out -'have you still got my baby bath, no dramas if you haven't but can you pick me up another one before my new bub is born...'

I'd ask straight out if she still has it and yeah if she says yes that you want it on a time/day to go get it. Sounds really frustrating!

I definitely think there is! We didn't borrow much, but the couple of things we did, as soon as DD was finished with it I rang the people to organise a time to drop it back over.

One friend said yep bring it over, while my SIL said she was done with having kids so do what we want with it. So we passed it on to another friend.

But I can't believe anyone would just pass something on without asking?! It's so rude. I'd be so angry if someone did that with the stuff we lent out!

I really hope you get it back

How annoying. Like many other PP have said, tell her your coming to get it on X day so she needs to get it out of storage before then. Tell her if its dirty thats fine, you just want it back and tell her to let you know if she hasnt got it anymore. I would be sooo infuriated by this.

Like PP said, I borrowed a couple of things when I had DS and as soon as he outgrew it, I offered to give it back straight away....I also lent out some of DS things to friends who had babies after me and they rang me to give them back after their kids grew out of them but I told them to pass them on to someone else who might use them. I do think your friend has 'misplaced' or broken your baby bath.

I wouldn't ask her to leave it out, she might say someone took it when she left.

I would be so annoyed! I agree with others, give her a couple of date options to give it back to you, or have a new one ready. So frustrating that your mom chose it specially, though!

I would straight out say to her 'I want my baby bath back' and arrange a time to make it happen. If she tries to get out of it i would then be saying 'look, i really need my baby bath so either give it to me or tell why you keep avoiding returning it'.
