    Default Baby names

I just found out I'm having a girl!!!!!!

I already have a son who is nearly 2.
    His name is Eli

I have wanted to call my daughter Ella since I was 14 years old. Now its happening, I just want to know if people think the 2 names are too similar/close??

Eli and Ella. They sound different, but are the same.
the other name we can agree on is Zoe.. but we have wanted Ella for so long!

so confused.. and I don't really care what those say behind our back, just wanting some advice!
    thanks!!!

If you love it then go for it. We've a girl name picked out for if we ever have one and we'll be using it, come hell or high water.

I think they look more similar than they sound.

I agree with SPM. They look alike but when you say them out loud they aren't all that similar.

My friend has two boys who's names both start with what sounds like "Alley", although one childs name starts with an A and the other an E, and I am forever confused about which child she is referring too because I often only hear the first syllable.

I think you could get away with Eli and Ella if you love the name.

Congratulations! I love both names. They are very similar and both could end up with the same nickname once they hit school (eg; "El"). But if you love it, then go for it if that doesn't worry you. How about another 'E' name such as Eve, Eva, Evie?? Just some suggestions

I agree that in writing they look similar but when said out loud they are quite different.

If you love the name use it. Otherwise you'll always kick yourself for not calling her Ella. And if people think they're a bit same-y so what? Not every name pleases everyone and there are bigger reasons to dislike a name out there.
