Default Could the menstrual cup be of use in conceiving?

Ok....it may be a silly question but just something I was thinking of the last couple of days.

I use a menstrual cup now....most awesome thing invented ever! And it has got me thinking......

The cup is designed to hold everything in...so nothing leaks or gets out.

And after DTD they always say to make sure your elevate your bum for 20mins to ensure everything heads towards the egg to help the sperm on their way...you know gravity and all that.

Now when I was TTCing, I would do the elevate thing but still would get leakage (sorry TMI) and couldnt help thinking I was loosing precious sperm.

And now I was wondering if you use a menstrual cup would it help keep it all in? You know, maximise the ability to keep it all in so all heading towards where its supposed to go?

    What do you think?

I dont think so. it is not going to make the sperm swim any faster, and the semen is merely just a transportation liquid really so it doesnt need to stay in for that long. it cant hurt tho?

I thought of this too, but only for the fact I don't have to clean up till the morning haha. As for the sperm that falls out, well it didn't make it up there for a reason so I don't want to conceive with the slow no good sperm. JMO though.

Wow I never even heard of a menstrual cup... Interesting tho.
I can see what you mean, but I'm not sure that would help as the sperm would just be caught in the cup and not swimming up******, I'm afraid the old legs up in the air method is here to stay, however the cup could be used for -tmi alert! - after s.e.x to avoid those all day spillage... if you know what I mean

Hmm, I'm not sure the sperm would fall down into the cup, bounce and swim back up?

I guess its more to stop all the leakage while you have your legs in the air...to encourage that everything stay in IYKWIM.

    Anyways...just a thought!
