We chose it for exactly a year after on the date dh proposed.
It was in October (I love spring) and didn't coinside with Earthcore (trance festival) which was the week before.
It was the middle of the only week that both sets of parents could be here from overseas.
We had it very early January, as everybody would've been on Christmas break still and could attend our destination wedding without taking time off work.
Because it coincided with uni holidays..lol so very romantic
Thanks for the replies I'm asking because I am torn between asap and waiting until January-May next year when we have no other celebrations all our birthdays fall June, July, August, Sep, Nov and christmas in Dec. Were a bit late for October!
My friend at high school predicted one day in human biology class (we were bored) that I would get married on 14th April 2002. In 2002 I was only 21 and had never even had a serious boyfriend, so that didn't happen! However I always remembered, and a few years later looked up the next time that April 14th fell on a Saturday. Turns out it was 2012. So several years ago I told myself that if I was engaged before 14th April 2012, I would get married on that date. I got engaged on 21st May 2011, so it worked out perfectly!
I also liked the fact that it was also the 100th anniversary of the sinking of Titanic, because Titanic has always fascinated me. Plus I thought "14th April" sounded pretty to say.
We chose our four year anniversary. Luckily it fell on a Sunday.
August 12. It was not too soon, not too far away, did NOT want to get married in a brisbane summer, August generally doesn't get much rain in Brisbane, and was the weekend that the reception venue could fit us in.
